Happy Friday!

Dear Community,

What a week, huh?  For the record, while I respect the rationale for snow cancellations, I don't like them.  I thought we were settling into to a nice groove this week.  The cancellation through us off a bit. In all, it was a good week.

I’ll keep my comments brief this go ‘round.  First, barring any unforeseen issues, midyear report cards will be distributed on or before Wednesday of next week.  I don’t expect you to revert back to the elementary years, but you’re welcome to start checking backpacks on that day.  We will be mailing them home as well.  Second, as we have entered the testing season (MCAS, WIDA, Advanced Placement), I want to remind you that attendance is extremely important, first and foremost, and students should take full advantage of the extra help sessions.  We will be reaching out to specific students (and their families) whom we believe would benefit from the additional support for the MCAS.  My suggestion: encourage your young scholar to take the help.  It's fun and impactful.

Congratz-o-gram time!  A hearty congrats to our Moot Court advocates Hafsa Gurhan, Jalen Campbell, Robert Phung, and Ralph Karnuah who competed this weekend at Suffolk University.  The feedback was strong all around from the judge, lawyer, and law student evaluators.  More, Richard Davis and Sadiya Gurhan are two of six debaters who will represent New England in the national tournament this summer in Overland Park, KS, an honor earned by their stellar performance this past weekend.  I am extremely proud of our young scholars.

My best to you for relaxing weekend!
