Happy Friday!

Dear Community,

Interesting week this was, huh?  A short week shortened by a snow day.  The bone-jarring cold didn't help. I have my on eyes on the prize - spring is coming (plan on that being a recurring theme in these messages).

The week was short, but still good at BHS.  We are very quickly nearing the end of the second grading quarter.  Marks close next Friday.  Be sure to check in with your student - now is the time for him/her to make up any outstanding assessments and engage any and all additional activities to make sure he/she is in the best position to finish strong.  Parents of seniors, this is the time during which we scrutinize senior grades.  We will intervene on behalf of any student who is danger of failing for the year and thus ineligible to graduate.  You will hear from us if that is the case.

Looking ahead, we're planning a spring multicultural potluck.  Great food?  Yes, for sure.  We are planning to include student performances/presentations.   I had a wonderful meeting with BHS parents last night during which this event was discussed.  You will hear much more in the coming months. Right now, mark your calendar for the evening of Thursday, May 1st.

Lastly, we're putting our students to work!  Next Friday is job shadow day.  We  have a good number of our students who will spend the day "on the job".  See below for the partners.

Stay warm this weekend!

Best,
Dr. T
